Print viewer

Watching a live print

Follow a print layer by layer while it runs, and respond when a critical incident comes in.

While a print is running, the print viewer updates as each new layer comes in. Use it to keep an eye on the build from your desk and to react quickly when Euler finds a critical defect.

Following new layers

When you open an active print, the viewer follows the build: each new layer is shown as soon as it arrives. The play button in the toolbar turns this on and off (Automatically seek to new layer / Stop automatically seeking to new layer).

Following pauses when you step back to look at an earlier layer, so new layers don't pull you away. A small pause badge on the button shows this. To pick it up again, go to the newest layer, for example by dragging the layer slider to the right end.

The status card at the top of the sidebar shows Active while the print runs. When Euler knows how many layers the build has, the card also shows a progress bar and the percentage of layers printed. When the print ends, the card changes to Completed and the Report tab appears.

Analysis progress

While Euler analyzes a whole print at once, for example after you upload one, the status card shows the analysis instead, with its own progress bar and an estimate of the time left:

  • Preparing print job: the uploaded images are being prepared.
  • Starting analysis: this can take a few minutes.
  • Analyzing imagery: Euler is checking the layer images for defects.
  • Scanning geometry: Euler is building the 3D view of the parts used by the heatmap.

You can look through the layers while this runs. Defects appear in the viewer when the analysis finishes.

Critical incident card

When Euler raises a critical alert, the status card is replaced by Critical incident in progress. It says on which layer the defect began and has two buttons, Acknowledge and Dismiss.

Go to the layer

Click the card. The viewer jumps to the layer where the defect began.

Review the images

Step through the following layers with ← and → and decide whether the print needs action.

Respond

Choose Acknowledge (the print Continued or was Stopped) or Dismiss (Mark as resolved or Snooze), and add a note if it helps others.

On a phone, the card floats over the image. It shrinks to a small red button when you pan or zoom; tap the button to bring it back.

See Alerts for what each response means. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see You got a critical alert.
