Defect frequency plots
See how defects rise and fall across layers, and move through the print with the layer slider.
The frequency plot at the bottom of the print viewer shows every layer of the print at once. It points you to the parts of the build worth a closer look, so you don't have to step through every layer. The same plot is also the layer slider you use to move through the print.
Reading the plot
Each defect type is drawn in its own color, from the first layer on the left to the last on the right. The plot is scaled so the highest value in the print reaches the top, which means it is rarely flat: it shows how defects vary across the build, not absolute numbers.
Alerts and laser alerts appear as markers on the plot at the layer where they began. The layer status bar under the plot shows each layer's status.
Occurrences or largest defect area
Hover over the plot to show a small tab above its top-left corner. Choose what the plot shows:
- Occurrences: how many defects of each type were found on each layer.
- Max area: the size of the largest defect of each type on each layer.
Use Max area when one large defect matters more to you than many small ones.
Moving through layers
- Drag along the plot to scrub through the layers. The highlighted bar marks the current layer.
- For precise seeking, pause while dragging, then move the pointer up or down away from the plot. The plot zooms in around the current layer so each layer gets more room. Hold the pointer past the left or right end to keep moving in that direction.
- Scroll over the plot to step one layer at a time. Hold Shift to step 10 layers.
- The jog wheel to the right of the plot (on wide screens) moves through layers while you drag it up or down. The further you drag, the faster it goes. Let go and it springs back.
- The arrow buttons and layer number on the far right step one layer or take you to a layer you type in. Press L to jump to the layer number field.

Focusing on specific defect types
The plot follows the annotation toggle: hide a defect type there and it disappears from the plot too. Hover over a defect type in the Annotations list to highlight its curve.
