Using Euler on your own installation
What is different when your company runs Euler itself, in its own cloud or on premises.
Some companies run their own installation of Euler instead of using euler3d.com. Euler works the same way there: you upload and monitor prints, respond to alerts and review reports exactly as the rest of these docs describe. This page lists the few things that are different for you.
The web address
Your installation has its own web address, chosen by your company. Use it wherever these docs mention euler3d.com. Ask your site administrator if you don't know it.
Your account
On your own installation, your site administrator may create your account for you instead of you signing up.
- You get a temporary password from your administrator.
- The first time you sign in, Euler asks you to choose a new password. Enter your Email, a new Password, repeat it in Confirm password and click Confirm.
- If you are not in an organization yet, Euler shows "You have not been added to an organization yet." Ask your site administrator to add you.
Some installations turn off sign-in emails. There you can't reset a forgotten password yourself or change your email address. Ask your site administrator to set a new temporary password.
Organizations
People usually can't create organizations themselves on their own installation. Your site administrator creates them and adds members. Once you are in an organization, its admins invite and manage members as usual.
Euler Connect
When you set up Euler Connect, choose Custom Installation instead of Cloud Installation, and enter your installation's address under Hostname. Your site administrator can tell you which address to use.
Notifications
Notification emails, such as alerts and print reports, are sent when your installation has an email server set up, even if sign-in emails are turned off. Ask your site administrator. Slack isn't available on your own installation.
The license banner
Your installation runs on a license from Euler. When it is about to expire, site administrators see a banner at the top of the app: "The current license expires in N days", with a link to Update license. Other users don't see it. See Site administration.
For site administrators
- First-run setup: get a new installation ready.
- Site administration: manage users, installed models and the license.
