Euler Connect
The desktop app that sends build data from your printer to Euler while the build runs.
Euler Connect is a small desktop app that you install on the Windows computer that runs your printer. It watches the folder where the printer saves its layer images and sends each layer to Euler as soon as the printer writes it. That is what makes live monitoring possible: you see each layer in Euler while the build is still running, and you get alerts in time to act on them.
Euler Connect or manual upload?
There are two ways to get a build into Euler:
- Euler Connect sends every build automatically, layer by layer, while it prints. Use it for printers you want to monitor live and get alerts from.
- Manual upload brings in a build folder after the build has finished. Use it for older builds, for trying Euler out, or for a printer that has no workstation running Euler Connect. See Uploading a print job.
You can use both for the same device.
What you need
- The Windows computer that runs the printer, where the printer saves its layer images. This is where Euler Connect works best. See Where to install it.
- Internet access to Euler from that computer, directly or through a proxy. If your organization runs its own Euler installation, the computer needs to reach that installation instead.
- An organization admin to set it up. Only admins can connect Euler Connect to an organization.
Where to install it
Install Euler Connect on the computer that runs the printer, so it reads the layer images straight from that computer's disk. Each layer then reaches Euler as soon as the printer saves it.
If you can't install software on the printer's computer, you can run Euler Connect on another Windows computer that reads the printer's image folder over a network share. This works, but expect each layer to arrive later, often around 30 seconds later than with a local install. Alerts arrive later by the same amount.
